![]() ![]() In my previous comment about my favorite character from TWD, I have spoke about the differences between Negan and The Governor and this issue has proved it once more. Basically, Rick tried to talk some sense into him, to give him a chance and well… since Governor was cracked in nuts, he did not listen. ![]() Seeing how Negan is with Rick now, it makes me remember one of the glorious moments of the TV show – the moment of Rick’s speech to Governor from Season 4. It has a much better sense to it – Rick and Negan are united and I am sick as hell to find out, how this is going to turn out. I was really confused and worried about all these variant covers with Rick holding Lucille in Negan’s clothes, titles like “Conquered” and some of the stuff that happened in the actual issue… I really had thoughts that Rick or Negan are gone, but nope. As long as I get to see more Negan in general with his colorful language I’m happy. And in either case I would enjoy both and can’t wait to see which it is. It could be something with a slow but huge change in his character. That’s what I love about everything with Negan lately. Whether or not it was because Negan actually had some change of heart and is saving Rick for a reason or because he’s doing this all for some other large, ulterior plan is still in the air. Part of me is going ” could get behind this Negan redemption arc” if it ends up being a real thing – I mean, he saved Rick’s life and all. The fact that he can see be so easily cutthroat for his goal (killing Brandon, and then Alpha) but so far seems … SEEMS like he may have different focuses and goals now has me all over the place. Rick – The variant cover makes a bit of sense from the moment with Negan and Rick pausing before yelling “listen to the man!” Rick is still a steadfast leader and the changes in how he leads, especially due to his leg now, has been fun to see develop and slowly/slightly change. Still, it was a cute and funny moment I think. Who’s keeping who safe here? I liked that moment because it was a very “equal grounds” moment since both he and Andrea are strong. Mostly in that way of Dwight trying to be a BRO and a FRIEND like “I’ll keep an eye on her Rick” but Andrea basically saying the same thing to him. Tangent: I loved the moment between him and Andrea when Rick sees them off. I’m glad he got some moments of doubt which reflect on his past with the Saviors/Negan because it shows that he’s still human and still has some insecurities (since boy his experience with Negan really did that to him), but he ended up standing up and embracing it and his bond with Rick growing as partners is something I think is awesome to see. I hope they stay safe!ĭwight – Another character I grew to love in the comics (I hope the series does him the same justice!) and lately he’s been so great. I always love seeing Jesus do ANYTHING to be honest, but him and Michonne in this issue were so badass with their plan to try their best to thin out the herd as best they could in a slightly faster/more efficient if not more dangerous way. He’s been a standout in recent times so I’m glad to see him more fleshed out and focused on! His smile when Rick thanks him just shows that even after all of his hardships, he can keep going with the encouragement of his friends. He’s grown so much as a character and had his own strengths the whole time, only took a while before he got to really show them off for the good of the group. Not only was it nice to hear Kirkman confirm he’s on the spectrum which a lot of fans have gotten the impression of, Eugene was great in this issue. The new arc has a pretty strong start so far! I loved this issue for a lot of reasons. ![]()
